It was a great pleasure for Thai people when the Lord Chamberlain received the royal command to make an announcement after His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun accepted the invitation of the President of the National Legislative Assembly acting as the President of the National Assembly to ascend the throne as the King of the Kingdom of Thailand.

His Majesty views this as a suitable time to hold the coronation ceremony in accordance with royal traditions for national celebration and the joy of the people and the kingdom. The Coronation Ceremony will be performed on May 4, 2019. His Majesty the King will grant a grand audience to members of the Royal Family, the Privy Councilors, Cabinet members, and senior public officials to offer their best wishes to His Majesty. Later on, the assumption of residence ceremony will be held.

On May 5, 2019, a ceremony to bestow the Royal Cypher and the Royal Title and to grant the royal titles to members of the Royal Family will take place. Later, His Majesty the King will go around the city in a procession. On May 6, 2019, His Majesty the King will appear on a balcony of Suddhaisavarya Prasad Hall in the Grand Palace to grant a grand public audience to the general public so that they may offer their best wishes to His Majesty. He will later grant an audience to members of the diplomatic corps to offer their felicitations at Chakri Maha Prasad Throne Hall.

Traditionally, the royal coronation is a ceremony held for the heir to the throne to be formally crowned or consecrated as the head of state. The royal coronation ceremony for His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun will be the 12th in the Thai history. After the ceremony is completed, the new king is entitled to include the prefix “Phrabat” in his royal title. The same day of the following years is observed as the Coronation Day.

On this auspicious occasion, public and private sectors, citizens, as well as IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, which is one of Thailand’s leading exhibition and convention centers, would like to express our reverence and offer best wishes to the King by dressing in yellow and decorating buildings with the royal emblem to honor the King for 4 months starting from April to July 2019.
